ASRC is a private, for-profit corporation that is owned by and represents the business interests of its 13,000 Iupiat Eskimo shareholders in the villages of Point Hope, Point Lay, Wainwright, Atqasuk, Utqiagvik, Nuiqsut, Kaktovik, and Anaktuvuk Pass. Some of the corporation shareholders live outside of the region in Alaska, with a small number residing in the Lower 48.
